| 101 E. Tom Landry The mural is painted on a downtown building on Tom Landry Street and Conway Avenue by Mission artist Manuel Hinojosa, depicts the life of the legendary coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Tom Landry was born and raised in Mission where his football fame was initiated as quarterback of the local high school team. Tom Landry went on to be the most recognized coach in the history of the NFL, as he posted an impressive string of 20 consecutive winning seasons. Just below the mural Coach Landry’s foot and handprints are found along with those of cowboy legends such as Tony Dorsett and Ed “Too Tall” Jones. |
