The BORDER
THEATER
905 North Conway

The theater was completed in 1942 and is a fine example of a mid twentieth
century motion picture theater. The walls are adorned by southwestern images of desert and cactus
resembling a “border town”, hence the name.

Designed for up to 740 patrons, opening night featured the Roy Rogers movie “Heart of the Rio Grande”.

In 1995 the new owners began the restoration to preserve the building to its original condition. This
historical landmark, located in downtown Mission, continues to enhance the quality of life by showcasing
feature films to the Mission community.
